About the AILET Exam?

The All India Law Entrance Test is a major exam for intending legal practitioners. It tests the candidates on several aspects of law and legal analysis. This entrance examination is conducted by the National Law University, Delhi (NLUD), which opens doors to the University’s much-valued flagship programs, BA LLB and LLM. The exam tests a candidate’s English comprehension and thinking ability, current event knowledge, and understanding of legal reasoning. 

AILET 2025 Registration, Exam Date

AILET NLU Delhi 2025 will possibly be conducted in the second week of December 2024. The AILET 2025 exam date will be around December 8 tentatively. The exam will be conducted offline between 11 AM and 1 PM across various test centres in the country. The AILET registration process will start from the first week of July 2024.

AILET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Before applying to any institution for admission into law undergraduate programs, one must review the AILET exam eligibility factors. The candidates must possess the educational qualification and have secured the qualifying marks in the prescribed examination as mentioned below:

  • General Category: Has completed the final year of the Higher Secondary School Examination (10+2) or its equivalent examination and must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate.
  • SC/ST/PwD Category: Completed minimum of 10+2 examination or equivalent of Higher Secondary School Examination with minimum 40% marks in aggregate.
  • Foreign Nationals: Candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination (10+2) or equivalent and must obtain a minimum of 65% in this exam.

Aspiring applicants who are to appear for class 12 or an equivalent examination in the current academic session can apply, but they must meet minimum academic standards to be considered for admission to the course. There is no certain age limit for this examination.

AILET 2025 BA LLB Syllabus

The AILET 2025 syllabus for UG has three major parts: English language, general knowledge and current events, and logical reasoning.

Important Topics (Subject-Wise)

  • English Language: Fill in the blanks, Choose the correct word, jumbled words or sentences, synonyms, idioms & phrases, antonyms, synonyms, and comprehension.
  • General Knowledge and Current Events: Science, history, geography, economics, all current events (try to cover as much as possible).
  • Logical Reasoning: Analytical reasoning and legal reasoning.

AILET PG Syllabus 2025

The AILET LLM syllabus for 2025 comprises two sections: English Language and Legal Reasoning. The Legal Reasoning section includes topics and concepts from various branches of law. This section will consist only of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with no descriptive questions.

The AILET 2025 syllabus for LLM has two major categories, one is the English language and the other is legal reasoning. The topics and conceptions presented in the legal reasoning section apply to all branches of law. This section will only contain multiple-choice questions and will not have descriptions.
