Legal Reasoning
Tests your legal chops thoroughly. This section primarily tests your ability to apply given principles to come to a solution. Sometimes this section might also test your awareness of some basic legal terms.
Quant
Tests your numerical skills. Basic class X math is tested, and applications.
English
Tests your familiarity with the English Language: includes Grammar / Vocabulary and Reading Comprehension. The level of questions are relatively high and one has to have a solid foundation of English to score well here.
Reasoning
Are you logical enough? Are you razor sharp? Can you immediately understand a situation and come to a logical conclusion? This section will test your analytical chops.
General awareness
This is by far the most ambiguous section in the test. The syllabus primarily concerns itself with GK that you should have learnt in History / Geography / Sciences etc. and your awareness about the issues that are current and relevant.

The Consortium of Legal Universities (NLUs) administers the CLAT which is a national legal entrance exam. Admission to one-year LLM (PG) and five-year integrated LLB (UG) programmes is done through the CLAT exam 2024. CLAT exams are given for admission to 21 NLUs in postgraduate programmes and 24 NLUs in undergraduate programmes. In addition to NLUs in India, 61 more private affiliated colleges and many PSUs accept CLAT scores for hiring. The CLAT exam analyses a candidate’s aptitude and critical thinking skills.

CLAT Eligibility Criteria
For Undergraduate CLAT courses, there is no maximum age limit to apply for the CLAT exam 2024. Students can also apply for the CLAT 2024 exam if they are appearing in the qualifying exam in March or April of 2024. When applying for admission, students will need to provide proof that they passed the qualifying exam. And, if they are unable to do so, then their chance of being admitted will be lost. In terms of the required minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying exam (10+2 or an equivalent exam), the students need to have scored:
- 45% marks or the equivalent grade for candidates in the General, OBC, PWD, NRI, PIO, and OCI categories.
- 40% marks or the equivalent grade for candidates who fall into the SC/ST categories.
