CLAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria

To appear for the CLAT exam, you need to check whether you qualify for the CLAT exam eligibility. The eligibility for CLAT 2025 is divided into two sections- UG and PG. Check the following:

CLAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria for UG

  • Candidates must get the following minimum percentage of marks in their qualifying exam (10+2 or similar exam).
  • Participants from PIO/General/OCI/NRI/OBC/PWD categories must secure 45% or its equivalent grade.
  • A minimum of 40% marks or equivalent grade must be secured by candidates from SC/ST categories. 

CLAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria for PG

  • An LLB degree or equivalent exam with at least 50% of marks or its equivalent grade. Candidates from the General/PIO/OBC/PWD/OCI/NRI categories must secure the mentioned marks or grades.
  • For candidates belonging to SC/ST categories, a minimum of 45% of marks or its equivalent grade is required. 

CLAT 2025, Documents Required for Application form

Before filling out the application form for the CLAT exam, keep the following documents handy. 

  • An active email ID and contact number.
  • Marksheets for Classes 10 and 12.
  • ID and address proof (PAN Card/Aadhaar Card/ Driving Licence)
  • A 500KB photo in jpeg/jpg format.
  • A 100KB signature in jpeg/jpg format.
  • State domicile certificate of 200MB in PDF format.
  • Candidates from SC/ST/OBC must present relevant category certificates.
  • If applying as a PwD or BPL candidate, submit a relevant certificate issued by a competent body.

CLAT 2025, Registration Process and Fee

CLAT registration is done online. To access the application form, candidates can visit the official site of the Consortium of National Law Universities. The registration process is one of the pivotal CLAT exam details for UG and PG. The process is the same in both cases. To register for CLAT 2025, follow steps the steps below: 

  • Visit the Consortium of National Law Universities’ official website, and a message will appear on the homepage. 
  • To get CLAT registration details and the application form, click “CLICK HERE”.
  • If registering for the first time, you must log in with your name, phone number, and email address. 
  • After checking in, select a course of study. Mention if you’re pursuing a UG or PG program.
  • Next, you have to fill out the application form. 
  • The application form for the CLAT exam will have spaces for personal information, contact details, qualifying marks, reservation, exam centre preferences, and other additional spaces. All fields must be filled out completely. 
  • After filling out the application form, you must pay the CLAT exam fees. A green-coloured “Make Payment” button is available on the dashboard; you must click on it to proceed with the payment option. Select your payment mode and complete the process. 
  • The CLAT form fees vary from one category to another. For General/NRI/PWD/OCI/PIO, the admission fee is Rs.4000, and the application fee with question papers is Rs.4500. For SC/ST/BPL, CLAT fees is Rs. 3500 and application with question papers is Rs. 4000. 

Note: While making the payment for CLAT registration fees, additional bank charges will be levied which may be Rs. 50 or more. After the payment is done candidates can download the submitted application form from the dashboard.
