National Law University Delhi (NLUD) Exam Pattern

AILET is a pen-paper-based test. The questions are in English. The test is conducted for 90 minutes. One hundred fifty multiple-choice questions are to be attempted. That means a student will get less than a minute for each question. A negative marking is given. No mark is reduced if you do not attempt a question for NLU Delhi Admission. OMR sheet will be provided, on which the correct answer choice needs to be shaded using a blue or black ballpoint pen. For the undergraduate program, the exam syllabus includes:
  1. 35 questions from General knowledge.
  2. 35 questions each in legal aptitude, reasoning, and English section
  3. The mathematics section contains ten questions.
For the postgraduate program, the exam syllabus includes 50 questions from each of these sections:
  1. Constitutional law
  2. Jurisprudence
  3. Essay and others

National Law University Delhi (NLUD) offers a wide range of courses. It offers UG, PG, Ph.D., and diploma programs. Admission Procedure | National Law University Delhi (NLUD)

Admission process and details for masters of Law (LLM) from NLU, Delhi are:
  1. The student score at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in the LLB course (or equivalent degree) and must have graduated from a recognized university.
  2. Students must sit for AILET (All India Law Entrance Test) exam, and clear it. An online application form is available months before the exam. The cut-off varies from year to year, depending on the number of students and the difficulty of the exam. The exam consists of subjects like Constitutional law, Jurisprudence, Essay writing, and many more.
  3. After clearing AILET, students would be qualified to sit for the PI (personal interview).
  4. After clearing the PI round, students will be allotted a seat in the university.

National Law University Delhi (NLU Delhi) – Fee Structure

The fee structure of courses is:
  1. Bachelor of Law (undergraduate): BA-LLB {HONS.} degree duration is 3 years. Five years of the integrated program is also available. Eighty seats are allotted for this course. The fee costs around INR 1,50,000 for a year.
  2. Master of Laws (L.L.M): It is a one-year course. The course costs somewhere around INR 1,40,000.
  3. Doctor of Philosophy in law: It is a three-year course and costs around INR 1,15,000 for one year.
  4. Post Graduate Diploma: One-year diploma course costs around INR 13,000.
  5. Certificate course in competition policy and law: INR 15,000 for the 6-month course.

NLU Delhi Entrance Test Details

The AILET test is held in May. AILET exam is conducted for LLB, LLM, and Ph.D. programs. Fill the online application form and get the admit card for the exam. The syllabus varies for BA-LLB and LLM. The exam is conducted for over 90 minutes. The question paper comprises of 150 questions. The entrance test is an offline test and has negative markings.
